I would recommend going to some saddle shops and actually sitting in the saddles. This is the only way to really decide what size you will need and feel comfortable in.

ENGLISH: You need to measure from your knee to your hip and that will give you your seat size. To measure the seat size on a saddle you start from the button to the side of the pommel, then take the measuring tape and go to the center of the cantle (back of the saddle.).
Now some folk claim that you need a 1/2 – 1″ seat larger for a dressage saddle, but it is just your own preference, if you are a larger in the tush person, then you may.
As for your horse’s size, depends a lot on the breed, most TBs, QHs, Arabs take a wide to extra wide tree.

I would definitely just go to saddle shops and try them all out, see what feels best to you. That way you know you will be happy.

You really need to try the saddles. Also, the deeper the seat in saddles, the larger size you will need. Depending on how tall you are, I’d try a 17″. You’ll probably need a 16.5 or 17″, but you really need to sit in the saddle to make sure that it’s the right size for you (saddles are like clothes, you need to try them, as the sizes do vary).
Hope this helps and good luck!
