No errors. . . This is a novel and * not * an account of the adventures of real life. Ms. Paredes uses folksy expressions that may entertain some people, but I’m not impressed. Raised in Arizona and I found these stories “high” to be great. . . Though it is supposed to have occurred around 1930. Certainly enriched the stories he heard as a child who was probably ready to be exaggerated.
As a novel, this was often a fun read, but fell short of mesa.Los characters are unique, but not all together pleasant. I thought the story of wandering aimlessly, without much of a message: families produce dysfunctional families disfuncionales.Tal this time period is better than some fantasy stories, but I will go for his next novel.

The journalist Jeannette Walls details his difficult and often incredible success in his memoirs, The Glass Castle. Now, concentrate on his grandmother, Lily, Casey Smith – born in the 20th century in the rural West, with both the danger and desolation in their daily life was not much different from what had been a century antes.Desde early age, Lily – the oldest of three children – is stubborn and independent.
These are decisions that will help run the family ranch that his father had intelligent, but the handicapped, not the brother so brilliant and very passive mother and her sister lives and thrives on the first día.Durante World War, teenager Lily takes the opportunity granted by the shortage of school teachers, causing hundreds of miles on horseback in Arizona to teach at a school in a room. Although never completed eighth grade herself, Lily was able to teach many children in both school subjects and modes of marrying mundo.Después Jim Smith, Lily, her husband and two children later – Little Jim and mother Romero Walls’ – who work as administrators of the ranch of one of the most largest and most successful in the area. Together, they faced drought, natural disasters and disease, until life finally sent to Phoenix after the war MUNDIAL.ES this book, Walls shares some anecdotes and insight of her mother, Rosemary, who – if someone read the memoirs of Walls “- is often described as irrational and totally oblivious of their children (and sometimes). Romero, also showed how stubborn and independent, is portrayed as a normal child and adolescent heavily on much of the book.
But when meets and marries Rex Walls is easy to see that things could get, knowing what we do only his futuro. No Lily Casey Smith fascinating to read all in itself, but the report also provides a fascinating glimpse of life in the southwest in During the mid-century and early twentieth century, especially in the areas of breeding and education.

Half of the horses was very good. You’re a good writer, but its hard to beat the castle of glass, which was the best.
