Not mistaken. . . This is a novel, and * not * converting real life adventures. Folksy expressions that are used by Ms. Walls may entertain some people, but I’m not very impressed. I grew up in Arizona, and I found these “fictions” to be somewhat unbelievable. . . Although they were supposed to have happened around 1930.
It undoubtedly embellished by stories she heard as a child, which is probably all ready to be exaggerated.
As a novel, it was sometimes amusing to read, but have not lived razvlekatelnye.Simvoly are unique, but not all together lovely. I thought that the story wandered aimlessly without a special message: Disfunctional semey.Vozmozhno disfunctional families make, it’s better than the period of a few science fiction stories, but I’ll send her next novel.

Journalist Jeannette Walls details of his difficult and often unbelievable history in his memoirs, the glass door. Now she concentrates on her grandmother, Lilia Casey Smith – born in the early 20 century in the rural West, with such a danger and desolation in its daily life, it is not much different than it did a century nazad.S young age, Lily – the oldest of three children – a stubborn and independent.

Despite never finishing the eighth grade, she was to teach Lily of many children in school subjects and how mira.Posle marriage Jim Smith, Lily, her husband, and then their two children – little, Jim, and mother walls Rosemary – will work as ranch managers of one of the most successful and larger spreads in the area. Together, they battled drought, natural disasters and disease, life, until he finally sent them to Phoenix after the Second World voyny.V this book, the walls also shared some anecdotes and ideas about her mother Rosemarie, who – if the readers read the Memoirs of the walls – often portrayed as irrational and simply neglect her children (and himself, at times). Rosemary, also pointed out how stubborn and independent, is presented as a major normal children and adolescents for most of the book.
But by the time she meets and marries Rex Walls is easy to see where the situation could, knowing what we are doing in their buduschem.Ne only Lily Casey Smith, a fascinating reading of the entire in itself, but this memoir also provides a fascinating look at life South-West in the early and mid-twentieth century, especially in the field of animal husbandry and education.
